Family Carers Ireland
Caring for a loved one can be rewarding, but it can also be difficult, frightening and isolating. It shouldn’t be. Family Carers Ireland want carers to know they have the support they need to care safely, to make it less of a battle and to know they are not alone. It is the national charity supporting the 500,000+ family carers across the country who care for loved ones such as children or adults with additional needs, physical or intellectual disabilities, frail older people, those with palliative care needs or those living with chronic illnesses, mental health challenges or addiction.
Family Carers Ireland believe that no one should have to care alone.

Family Carers Ireland
Breakthrough Cancer Research is an Irish medical research charity focused on cancer. In 1995, Prof Gerry O’Sullivan founded a small research group at the Mercy Hospital which expanded into Cork Cancer Research Centre in 1999 and became a national effort in 2011 when Breakthrough Cancer Research was launched.
Breakthrough Cancer Research works to significantly impact the number of children and adults who can survive this disease. The charity invests in world-class research in Ireland to impact the quality of life for people with cancer and save lives. We are particularly focused on improving outcomes for those cancers, which are poorly served by current treatment options.
